Matrics Shining Stars of 2024!

Maseehah Omar (Al Asr Educational Institute) of Erasmia secured 6 distinctions in; Afrikaans, Mathematics, Life Orientation, Accounting, Life Sciences and Physical Science. “I would like to thank Allah(SWT) for blessing me with these amazing results, along with my friends, family and teachers for all of their support during this challenging year. I intend on studying Dentistry at the University of Pretoria, Insha-Allah.”

Misbah Wahab (Al Asr Educational Institute) of Erasmia scored 6 distinctions in; Physics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Accounting, Afrikaans and Life Orientation. “With the help of the Almighty, I intend to pursue a career in the medical field and ultimately give back to our community.”

Nuriya Alli (Al Asr Educational Institute) of Amberfield achieved 6 distinctions in; Mathematics, Physics, Life Sciences, Afrikaans FAL, English HL and Life Orientation. “I’d like to take a moment to thank the Almighty Allah, as it isonly through His rahma, guidance, and help that I have achieved these marks. I’d also like to express my deepest gratitude to my parents, Zaiheed and Laaiqah, as well as all my teachers and everyone else who has supported me throughout my journey. I will be studying Dentistry at the University of Pretoria, Insha Allah.”

Talhah Mateen Mohamed of Eldo Ridge Estate bagged 7 distinctions in; Mathematics, Physics, Life Sciences, Afrikaans FAL, English HL and Life Orientation. “All praise and thanks are due to my Creator for all the blessings bestowed on me. This milestone would not be possible without the people around me: my parents and family for their numerous sacrifices and efforts, my friends and peers for their unwavering support and my teachers who have worked tirelessly and with much dedication to guide me this past year and for many years before that. It is my dream to follow in my parent’s footsteps and pursue a career in medicine.”

Aashirya Chetty of Erasmia obtained 7 distinctions in; Afrikaans FAL, Accounting, Tamil SAL, Physical Science, Tourism, Life Science and Life Orientation. “This past season has been filled with challenges—long nights, moments of doubt, and the pressure to perform. Yet, through it all, I learned the value of perseverance and the strength that comes from pushing through tough times. I am deeply grateful to everyone who supported me along the way. I’d like to give a special thanks to my parents, sister, aunt’s, uncle, grandparents, my tutor Waseem, Aasiriyar Sandra and my Suthies family. I intend studying Engineering at WITS.”

Ameerah Carrim-Ganey of Claudius (Crawford International Pretoria) acquired 7 distinctions in; English HL, Afrikaans FAL, Life Orientation, Mathematics, Life Sciences, History and Business Studies. “I am so grateful to have had the ongoing support of my parents, family, teachers and friends throughout this journey. They’ve been my biggest cheerleaders every step of the way. This achievement is a reminder that true success only comes through the will of Allah SWT and to never underestimate the power of prayer. Class of 2024, congratulations! We survived the late-night cramming and never-ending past papers. Wishing you all the best as we step into this new chapter! I will be studying Medicine at the University of Witwatersrand.”

Ilhaam Hassim (Central Islamic School) of Laudium scored 6 distinctions in; English HL, Afrikaans FAL, Life Orientation, Business Studies, Life Sciences and Physical Science. “Alhamdulillah I am incredibly grateful to Allah for making it this far in my schooling career and am also thankful to my wonderful parents, teachers and tutors for the endless support and encouragement. Looking forward to the next chapter in my life.”

Imaan Hoosen of Eldoglen achieved 7 distinctions in; English HL, Mathematics, Afrikaans FAL, French SAL, Life Sciences, Geography and Life Orientation. “I am grateful for the strength, guidance, and blessings the Almighty has bestowed upon me throughout this journey. Every step, challenge, and triumph has been a reminder of His mercy and sustenance. I am truly blessed for the unwavering love and encouragement of my family, friends, and teachers, who have been my pillars of support. I will be studying Actuarial Science at the University of Cape Town.”

Muhammad Ali (Central Islamic School) of Laudium obtained 7 distinctions in; Afrikaans FAL, Arabic SAL, Accounting, Computer Application Technology, Life Orientation, Mathematics and Physical Science. “Alhamdulillah I am grateful to Allah for guiding me through my schooling career and always allowing me to achieve the best possible results. I am also extremely grateful to the amazing teachers of Central Islamic School for always assisting and pushing me to work harder and believe in myself and I am also extremely grateful to my parents for always supporting me, guiding me and providing me with all the resources that I have which ultimately assisted me in achieving the results that I got.”
