Laudium’s Bethesda Revival Church organised a special day for children within the community, recently.
Last Wednesday morning, October 6 and in conjunction with the school holidays, many children were treated to a delightful day at the church on Primrose Str, organized by Pastor Kevin Naicker. Pastor Naicker told the Laudium Sun, “Every year we organise a day when our children are home and have some spare time, usually during the vacation. The children spend a day at the church with many activities lined up for them, also receiving gifts. This time it has been a long year, due to the lockdown and Covid-19. Our children are also affected by this. We organised a Bethesda Revival Church Vacation School, where we had sporting activities and church services lined up for the children and also handed gifts to them. We would like to thank the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation for sponsoring the day. Building a united free and safe society for our children, is one of the things that is very close to my heart.
Innocent Kgomo of the Gauteng Department said, “As part of the school holiday campaigns, we support such activities and initiatives when schools are closed. Sometimes children are idle at home and have nothing to do, therefore we encourage these kinds of activities where children can engage in sport and play together, so that they can stay away from drugs and other harmful activities.”
