It is most befitting that the Laudium Sun pays heartfelt tribute to a kind and noble soul from the midst of our community, on turning a milestone 80 yesterday (Thursday, July 10). He is a father, husband, grandfather, brother, and a deeply respected figure in the community… none other than Survin Mooloo, more affectionately known as Mo, whose life story is etched in every chapter with unwavering strength, of body, spirit, and heart. Born in 1945 in Marabastad as the eldest of six children, Mo stepped into responsibility at an early age. Helping raise his younger siblings and offering steadfast support to his mother through life’s many challenges, he showed a maturity and selflessness beyond his years. Alongside his beloved wife of 56 years, Mo built more than just a household, he built a sanctuary grounded in love, discipline, and unshakable dignity. Together, they raised four children who were gifted not just opportunity, but also integrity, values, and strength of character. An avid bodybuilder, Mo’s pursuit of personal fitness was never just about physical strength. It was about dedication, routine and the belief that discipline could change lives. He inspired generations, guiding, mentoring and motivating local youth with his actions, far louder than words ever could. Yet, Mo’s most enduring quality has always been his heart. His devotion to his family, his friends, and his community is quiet but unshakeable. He gives of himself with no expectation of return, always offering wisdom, help, or just calm support, earning the deep respect of all who know him. A family member told the Laudium Sun, “As we celebrate these 80 incredible years of the father of our family, we do more than acknowledge the passing of time. We honour a living legacy, one crafted through sweat, quiet sacrifice, and limitless love. It’s a legacy that lives in each of us and will continue to ripple through generations to come. Happy 80th Birthday, Dad. Your life is a gift, your example is our guide, and your presence is our greatest blessing. We love you more than words can express.”
The Laudium Sun wishes our loyal reader and friend, Mo, many happy returns with good health and endless blessings.
