led by Revd. Gershwin David… Greetings from Bethesda Revival Church led by flanked by Ria Ramnarian, Jaydin Naicker, Temicka Naidoo & Rizwana Matthews.
The season to be merry, the season to give… They say that is what the festive season is all about. Yes, the festive season is here once again… a time to share warmth and joy with family and friends, to create special memories together and a time to spread kindness and compassion to those in need. It is also a time to reflect on the past year and to make plan for and look forward to the bright possibilities of the New Year. Pastor Revd. Gershwin David of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church on Primrose Street, Laudium, said, “Christmas is, at its heart, a celebration of love, joy, hope, and peace. While its origins are rooted in the Christian faith and in Jesus Christ, its message speaks universally to the longing found in every human heart – the longing for a world where compassion triumphs over division, where kindness flows freely, and where every person is valued and embraced. In a world that often feels uncertain, Christmas reminds us that light still breaks through darkness, that peace is possible, and that love remains the greatest gift we can offer one another.
In his Christmas message, Pastor Kevin Naicker of Bethesda Revival Church on Primrose Street, Laudium, said, “This Christmas, let us remember that the greatest gift we have received is Jesus Himself. The joy of Christmas is not in what we get, but in what God gave us, He gave us Jesus to save, heal, and redeem. Let this joy fill your heart, overflow to your family, and shine as a light in your community.”
The Laudium Sun wishes our clients and readers a safe and relaxing break these holidays. A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to those celebrating over this period. May your festive season be filled with joy and your New Year with peace and prosperity. Stay safe, stay blessed and may 2026 be a brighter chapter for all. Happy holidays and keep it safe on the roads.
Christmas wishes from Bethesda Revival Church – Primrose Street, Laudium : Christmas Hope and Reconciliation

Pastor Kevin Naicker:
“The Joy of Christmas
The greatest gift to mankind. Christmas is a season that awakens joy in hearts across the world. It is the profound, eternal joy that comes from the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Luke 2:10-11 tells us, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
The Angels pronounced Joy At the birth of Jesus It is a joy rooted in hope.
The shepherds were simple, ordinary people who were tending their flocks, yet they were given a message of hope. Christmas reminds us that God’s hope is for everyone, regardless of status, background, or circumstance. The joy we celebrate is not fleeting—it is anchored in the assurance that God is with us through Jesus (Emmanuel). It is a joy that surpasses circumstances. The angels announced Jesus’ birth in the midst of night, under humble conditions, yet they proclaimed great joy. Our joy does not depend on abundance or comfort; it depends on the presence of Christ in our lives. Even in challenges, trials, or loneliness, the joy of Christmas can shine because it is a spiritual joy, not merely emotional. It is a joy meant to be shared. The shepherds didn’t keep the news to themselves—they went and told everyone they met (Luke 2:17). True joy over Jesus’ birth grows as we share it with other, through love, kindness, encouragement, and acts of service. Christmas joy multiplies when we bring hope to someone else. This Christmas, let us remember that the greatest gift we have received is Jesus Himself. The joy of Christmas is not in what we get but in what God gave us, He us Jesus to save, heal, and redeem. Let this joy fill your heart, overflow to your family, and shine as a light in your community.”

Christmas wishes from St Thomas Catholic Church – Pendant Street, Laudium

Rev. Fr. Lukose Perumannikala Alexander Parish Priest:
“Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In a couple of week’s time we will be celebrating Christmas, the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Christian communities all over the world started spiritually preparing for that great event that took place in the history of the world with small, small sacrifices and mortifications. We call that period of preparation as advent which reminds us that our God is very near and comes in humility and with love. God, who created the universe, now dares to be born in time, born of a virgin, born in human flesh, coming in the weakness and dependence of a new-born child. He comes as pure gift, not imposing himself upon anyone, but present to all who would receive him. This giving of himself as a pure gift to us humanity and the world which is darkened by the fear of war, conflict and violence is the reason for rejoicing at the Christmas that we celebrate. As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we rejoice in the light that has entered the world— a light that removes the darkness from our world and guides us, comforts us, and renews our hope. Christmas reminds us that God chooses to come close to us, to walk with us in our joys and struggles, and to fill our lives with His peace, joy and love. This holy season invites us to open our hearts once again to God’s love and to share that love generously with one another—especially with those who are lonely, suffering, or in need of compassion. The Child Jesus, born in simplicity and humility, teaches us that the greatest gifts we can offer are kindness, forgiveness, and a spirit of unity. May the grace of Christmas strengthen our families, deepen our faith, and inspire us to build a world where there is love, peace, joy, justice, mercy, and fraternity that flourish. Let us move into the new year with hearts filled with gratitude for God’s blessings and with renewed commitment to serve Him joyfully. Let the Christmas Season 2025 be a genuine experience of the incarnation of Christ in our hearts. I wish you all a blessed Christmas and a grace-filled New Year 2026. May the light of Christ shine in your homes and in your hearts.”

Quinton Morris, Father Lukose and Ishara Morris of Onyx Str, Laudium:

Christmas wishes from Westpoint Baptist Church – Taj Street Laudium

Pastor Alan Wainwright
“Luke 2:13-14 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Christmas is a time of God coming to earth to bring peace and favour to mankind. We live in tumultuous times of uncertainty, strife, hardship, and often a sense of hopelessness when we look at the state of the world and endure difficulties in our lives. The world wasn’t any different when Jesus was born over 2000 years ago. He came to bring hope and peace with God then, and He still offers it to us today. Our circumstances may not change, but when God gives us peace in Jesus, we’ll have a peace that is beyond understanding. Christmas is a time of allowing ourselves to draw near to God because He first drew near to us in the coming of Jesus, and receiving the peace and hope that He gives to all who believe.”
Christmas wishes from Omega Family Ministries, Cnr 19th Ave and Primrose Str, Laudium

Senior Pastors, Apostle Anthony & Pastor Estelle Marian:
“THE LOVE OF CHRIST: A CHRISTMAS HOPE FOR EVERY SEASON
Christmas arrives each year wrapped in lights, carols, and celebration—but for many, it also arrives carrying the weight of the year gone by. Some have faced loss. Others have endured uncertainty. Many have walked through storms they never expected. Yet Christmas does not deny our reality; it illuminates it. It speaks into the heart of every person—joyful or weary—with one unchanging message: Christ has come, and His love remains the greatest hope we will ever know.
At the centre of Christmas is not merely a story—it is a miracle. The apostle John writes:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” — John 3:16
The birth of Christ is heaven’s declaration of love. It is God stepping into our world with compassion, not condemnation; with mercy, not judgment; with healing, not rejection. Christmas reminds us that love is not something God feels—it is something He gives. One of the most profound titles given to Jesus is Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Notice that Scripture does not call Him the “Prince of Calm Circumstances” or the “Prince of Trouble-Free Lives.” He is the Prince of Peace—peace in the storm, peace through the darkness, peace despite what the year may have brought.
Jesus Himself said:
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you… Let not your heart be troubled.” — John 14:27 This peace is not fragile. It does not depend on what went right or what went wrong this year. It flows from His presence and His promise. Christmas whispers to every heart: You are not alone. Emmanuel—God with us—is still with you. The angels announced Christ’s birth with a message that still echoes across centuries:
“I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.” — Luke 2:10
All people. Joy for the weary.
Joy for the hopeful.
Joy for the one who barely made it through this year.
Joy for the one celebrating victories.
Joy because Christ came—for all.
This joy is not the shallow happiness the world offers; it is a deep, courageous, soul steadying joy that remains even when life feels uncertain. It is the kind of joy that reminds us that God can still turn midnight moments into morning miracles. Christmas is God’s message that brokenness is not the end of the story. The same Jesus who was born in a humble stable is the One who heals hearts, binds wounds, restores families, and lifts the fallen. Paul writes: “Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ.” — Romans 8:38–39 Not hardship, not anxiety, not loss, not failure, not fear—not even the toughest year of your life. His love surrounds you, upholds you, and carries you into a new season with new mercies. This Christmas, take a moment to breathe. To release the pressure of the past year. To remember the heart of the message:
Christ came for you.
Christ loves you.
Christ is with you.
Christ holds your tomorrow.
Let this season be a reminder that the light of Christ shines brightest in dark places. His love is strong enough to comfort, bold enough to restore, and powerful enough to renew your strength for the year ahead.
May the love of Christ fill your heart.
May His peace settle your mind.
May His joy strengthen your spirit.
And may you step into the new year with hope that refuses to fade.
A very Happy & Blessed Christmas.
May the love of Christ surround you today, tomorrow and always.”

Pastors Rajoo & Ria Bhana of 33rd Ave, Laudium:
“Christmas lights, gifts, special family gatherings and carols. But love and peace matter more than keeping traditions exactly the same. When Martha was distracted with preparations, Jesus reminded her that only one thing is necessary: to sit at His feet (Luke 10:41-42 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Take time this Christmas to pause, reflect, and focus on the birth of Jesus. He is the true source of joy, peace, and hope. Whether you find joy in family this season or wrestle with brokenness, remember this: Jesus came to bring light to our darkness, joy to our sorrow, and peace to our weariness. He entered our broken world to heal what is broken and to restore what seems lost. Your prayers are heard, and His love never fails. For those grieving loss, know that Jesus sees your tears and offers His comfort. And for families celebrating joyfully, remember to extend grace and gratitude for the gift of togetherness.
Let us commit this Christmas to embrace the presence of Christ in our families—however they look this season. Let us love, forgive, and honor one another, reflecting the grace that Jesus so freely gives. Even in imperfect moments, God’s love can transform our homes and our hearts. May you have a blessed Christmas.”

Pastor Jason Ramsuran of Emerald Str, Laudium:
“May this Christmas end the present year on a cheerful note and make way for a fresh and bright new year. Here’s wishing you and your family a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.”

Masego Motsoaledi of Bengal Str, Laudium:
“Wishing everyone a Christmas full of joy, love and peace as well as a prosperous New Year. May you remember that the season is about Christ.”

“A Christmas & New Year Message for the Community of Laudium. As we approach the beautiful season of Christmas and the beginning of a new year, I would like to extend heartfelt greetings to every resident of our diverse Laudium community.
Christmas is, at its heart, a celebration of love, joy, hope, and peace. In a world that often feels uncertain, Christmas reminds us that light still breaks through darkness, that peace is possible, and that love remains the greatest gift we can offer one another. May this season inspire us all – regardless of our beliefs – to strengthen the bonds of friendship, to reach out to those in need, and to cultivate goodwill in our homes
and neighbourhoods. As 2025 draws to a close and a new one dawns, we are gifted with an opportunity for renewal – a fresh beginning, new courage, and renewed purpose. Pentecostal Revival Centre – Sastri Avenue, Claudius

Pastor Nathan Govender…
“The Pastors and congregation of Pentecostal Revival Centre in Claudius would like to take this opportunity to wish all a Merry Christmas. While we prepare for the Christmas celebrations with gifts and treats under the sound of music and laughter, is an awesome profound revelation of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who can bring transformation and salvation to all. It is not about the season it is about the reason God sent His Son Jesus Christ to the world. It is not about the actual date of Christmas we celebrate, but the advent. The historical evidence that Jesus was born, of a virgin by supernatural conception – the seed of God the Holy Spirit. The Bible says in John 1v14 “and the word became flesh and dwelt amongst us, The birth of Jesus was prophesied by Isaiah the prophet, more than 700 years before Mary the mother of Jesus was born. Isaiah 7v14
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign. “Behold the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Emmanuel.” Which means God with us. The Bible says in Matt 1v21 “and she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His Name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”. We all need a Saviour, we cannot stand before a righteous and Holy God, that’s the reason why Jesus came to fulfil God’s purpose, to reconcile man to Himself. May the peace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ fill your hearts with hope, joy and love this Christmas. May you have a blessed and prosperous New Year!

Christmas wishes from Reformed Church Charisma Jewel Street, Laudium

Rev Dr Victor, Caroline, Kirshen, Charlene and Shaylin Pillay:
“Greetings. There is one day which is celebrated throughout the world. Yes, it is Christmas day. This is a mass or service for Christ. The birth of Christ was proclaimed by the Prophet Isaiah 9:6 about 750 years before Christ was born. This is a prophecy foretold for a very long time before it happened. It is beyond human understanding and comprehension. For if it is God’s prophecy then it is certainly above the human mind. The text tells us “for to us”. This is a personal and a message to each individual in the world – ‘to us’.
The text goes on to say “a boy is born and a son is given”. The sonship of Jesus Christ is ordained by God the Father. He was the one who could save us from the sins of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3. Our world is riddled with sin and it’s effect in our lives and our communities. The challenge and impact of sin is all around us. Who can save us from all of this evil, destruction and problems we experience. That’s why He is called Jesus which means Saviour. Note our text says Jesus Christ is given. This is the goodwill of God the Father so that His son who had no sin became sin for us. This is what the world celebrates. Is it not a good reason for you and I to celebrate our freedom from the bondage of sin and oppression. This is the message for the whole world. The Bible says ‘for God so loved the world that He gave His son to be our atonement for sin. Therefore the song says ‘Joy to the world the Lord is come’. Let us celebrate this coming of Jesus Christ for all of us who believe in Him there is forgiveness and eternal life in heaven. JESUS CHRIST reaches out to you and I. Let us respond with our hearts with the faith that He gives to us. May we all celebrate the new life in Jesus Christ of Christmas. Blessings.”
