Diesel set to decrease by 42c

The Minister of Mineral Resources, Mr Gwede Mantashe, has announced the adjustment of fuel prices that will come into effect from the 7th of May 2025. The adjustments are based on a number of current local and international factors.

Take note of the following changes;

  • Petrol 93 (ULP & LRP): Twenty-two cents per litre (22.00 c/l) decrease.
  • Petrol 95 (ULP &LRP): Twenty-two cents per litre (22.00 c/l) decrease
  • Diesel (0.05% sulphur): Forty-two cents per litre (42.00 c/l) decrease.
  • Diesel (0.005% sulphur): Forty-one cents per litre (41.00 c/l) decrease.
  • Illuminating Paraffin (wholesale): Thirty-one cents per litre (31.00 c/l) decrease.
  • SMNRP for IP: Forty-one cents per litre (41.00 c/l) decrease.
  • Maximum LPGas Retail Price: Forty-six cents per kilogram (46.00 c/kg) increase.

The main reasons for the adjustments, according to the Minister, are the crude oil prices, international petroleum product prices, the Rand/US Dollar exchange rate and the implementation of the slate levy.
