The Minister of Mineral Resources, Mr Gwede Mantashe, has announced the adjustment of fuel prices that will come into effect from the 2nd of October 2024. The adjustments are based on a number of current local and international factors.

Take note of the following changes;

  • Petrol (93 Octane): 106.00 c/l decrease.
  • Petrol (95 Octane): 114.00 c/l decrease.
  • Diesel (0.05% sulphur): 114.00 c/l decrease.
  • Diesel (0.005% sulphur): 112.00 c/l decrease.
  • Illuminating Paraffin (wholesale): 278.00 c/l decrease.
  • SMNRP for IP: 111.00 c/l decrease.
  • Maximum Retail Price of LPGas: 23.00 c/kg increase.

The main reasons for the adjustments, according to the Minister, are the crude oil prices, international petroleum product prices, the Rand/US Dollar exchange rate and the implementation of the slate levy.
