The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe, has announced the adjustment of fuel prices that will come into effect from the 4th of November 2026. The adjustments are based on a number of current local and international factors.

Take note of the following changes;

  • Petrol 93 (ULP & LRP): One cent per litre (1.00 c/l) decrease.
  • Petrol 95 (ULP &LRP): One cent per litre (1.00 c/l) decrease.
  • Diesel (0.05% sulphur): One hundred and nine point eight two cents per litre (109.82 c/l) decrease.
  • Diesel (0.005% sulphur): One hundred and nineteen point eight two cents per litre (119.82 c/l) decrease.
  • Illuminating Paraffin (wholesale): Two Rands and seventy-five cents per litre (R2.75 c/l) increase.
  • SMNRP for IP: Three Rands and sixty-six cents per litre (R3.66 c/l) increase.
  • Maximum Retail Price of LPGas: One hundred and eighty-three cents per kilogram (183.00 c/kg) increase and two hundreds and eight cents per kilogram (208.00c/kg) increase in the Western Cape.

The main reasons for the adjustments, according to the Minister, are the crude oil prices, international petroleum product prices, the Rand/US Dollar exchange rate and the implementation of the slate levy.
