Sun Review:
If your little ones love glitter, talking cats and problem-solving with a smile, then Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie is going to be their new favourite thing. Based on the hit Netflix series, this big-screen debut expands Gabby’s world in the most delightful way. While the show mostly kept things inside the magical dollhouse, the movie flips the formula by taking Gabby (and viewers) into the real world, where everything feels big, bold, and just a little bit bananas. The plot is simple and sweet: a daring rescue mission to retrieve the dollhouse from the quirky and somewhat misunderstood cat lady, Vera (voiced hilariously by Kristen Wiig). Along the way, Gabby learns lessons about friendship, creativity and how it’s okay when things don’t go perfectly, as long as you keep trying. But the real magic is that Gabby’s Dollhouse doesn’t talk down to its audience. It celebrates curiosity and kindness and gives younger viewers characters they can see themselves in; brave, clever and kind hearted. For longtime fans of the show, it’s a dream come true and while it’s definitely not made for adults, kids will be fully locked in and that’s exactly the point.
Sun Verdict:
Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie is paws itively purrfect for families with young kids. Full of colour, fun and gentle lessons, it’s a heartwarming adventure that will have your little ones meowing with joy. A must-watch for families and a guaranteed hit for fans of the show.
