My name is Akber Ibrahim, and I am a resident of Elandspoort, a community facing significant challenges related to poverty and access to basic necessities. I am writing to share a grassroots initiative I have founded, and to humbly request your assistance in amplifying its reach. The ‘Golden Hands Feeding Scheme’ was born out of a simple but urgent desire to provide food and dignity to those in need. Each week, I source bread from local sponsors and distribute it to families who would otherwise go without it. While the project remains small, its impact is deeply felt by those it reaches.
In addition to weekly bread distributions, I prepare sweet packs for children—small gestures intended to bring joy and remind them that they are seen and valued. However, the need in our community far exceeds my current capacity. Many households face daily food insecurity and I am unable to reach as many people as I would like to.
I am not seeking financial donations. Rather, I am appealing for support in the form of food parcels, clothing items, and other essentials that can help restore hope and dignity to our community members. I believe that with the help of compassionate individuals and organizations, we can expand this initiative and make a meaningful difference.
