On Tuesday (September 24), Councillor Naeem Patel, in partnership with Leromeng NPC and the Hills Committee, hosted a vibrant Heritage Day event in Itireleng, bringing together approximately 50 children aged 3-19 for an unforgettable celebration.

Celebrating South Africa’s rich heritage on Heritage Day, observed annually on September 24, honors South Africa’s diverse cultural heritage and the country’s collective identity. This national holiday encourages citizens to reflect on their shared history, traditions, and values, fostering unity and pride.

Empowering Youth Through Performance and Community
The Itireleng event, held from 11am to late afternoon, showcased the talents of the local youth through various stage performances, including music, dance, and drama. Weeks of diligent practice paid off as the children confidently took to the stage, entertaining their peers and community members.

Community Spirit and Generosity
Cllr Patel and the organizing committee’s dedication ensured the children had an unforgettable experience. A nutritious lunch was provided, and each child received a party pack filled with treats, adding to the excitement.
