Hey there, dear kids and welcome to this September edition of Kids Corner. September marks the official end of winter and the beginning of warmer weather and the braai season. Speaking of braais, September has been designated Heritage Month by the powers that be, with Heritage Day celebrated annually in South Africa, on September 24. The alternative name for National Heritage Day is National Braai Day. The day celebrates the traditions that contribute to our Rainbow Nation and recognizes the many diverse cultures that make up our beautiful country. Wishing all our readers a wonderful Heritage Day holiday, today. In the words of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, “We are going to have this wonderful thing on the 24th of this month…irrespective of your politics, or your culture, or your race, or your whatever, hierdie ding doen ons saam (braai)”
