Hello there dear readers and welcome to this September 2025 edition of Kids Corner. September is Dental Health Month, so let’s take the opportunity to remind ourselves just how important our teeth are. By the time you are as tall as mom or dad dear kids, you should have been blessed with 32 pearls of inestimable value! You’ve got it! Your teeth! Your teeth help you to eat, speak and of course smile with confidence. But, teeth need looking after every day. Brushing twice daily, flossing, drinking water and eating fruits and veggies helps keep teeth strong, while too many sweets and fizzy drinks can cause cavities. So, this September, let’s all make a toothcare promise; brush morning and night, floss daily, visit the dentist for a checkup and of course, keep smiling bright. Take care until next time…

Tooth tips for kids
- Brush twice a day- morning after breakfast and night, before bed.

- Floss once a day, to clean between your teeth, where a toothbrush can’t reach. Ask an adult to help, until you learn to do it properly on your own.
- Drink more water as this can help to wash away sugar bugs.
- Visit the dentist at least twice a year for a check up, to help keep your teeth in good shape.
- Avoid too many sweets and fizzy drinks as these can cause cavities.
- Eat crunchy fruit like apples, which can also help to keep your teeth clean.
