Open letter to my dear fellow Hindu and Pakistani foreign nationals living in South Africa:

You are welcome to live in our beautiful country South Africa. However, I would strongly urge you to read the Democratic, non racial Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and follow the guidelines contained in that very important document and follow the rules and Laws of our Land. You are welcome to bring your skills and talent (and pay taxes). However, when you come here, please leave behind your politics of Muslim-Hindu fighting. Here in South Africa, we live in HARMONY and PEACE: all of us together: Muslim + Hindu + Tamil + Christian. Your
pathetic and feeble attempt to cause a division between our various communities by “planting” an Arabic Script at the Pretoria Hindu Seva Samaj, has failed miserably. How does the egg on your face taste and look?
-54 Organisations from Muslim, Hindu, Tamil and Christian Organisations have CONDEMNED this incident. This shows that you have failed miserably.
-The Pretoria Hindu Seva Samaj issued a PUBLIC Eid Mubarak to the Muslim Community IMMEDIATELY to show that they will NOT be fooled by this “false flag operation” (plant the evidence and blame the other guy); we respect each others’ religious festivals of Dipawali, Holi, Raksha Bandhan (Rakhi), Eid and Christmas.
You must remember that you are living in South Africa: not in India or Pakistan or Bangladesh; the majority of our people are hard-working professionals and business people; we are not villagers who will form a MOB WITH STICKS running around because of a “Cowardly Hidden Shadow 3rd Force”; try your luck in another country.
We all stood shoulder-to-shoulder during the liberation struggle (with Nelson Mandela, Oliver Tambo, Chris Hani, Fatima Meer, Ahmed Kathrada, Pravin Gordhan, and others) as we moved from Struben Street, Prinsloo
Street, Church Street, Boom Street, Marabastad and so on; we had the BEST teachers who were Muslim, Hindu, Tamil and Christian; we lovingly recall Mr Lingham, Mr Singh, Mr Vallabh, Mr and Mrs Ebrahim (buff and Khatija), Mr Teggy Padayachi, Mr Gopalsammy, Mrs Darmalingum, Mr Ismail, Mr Jooma, Mr Dawjee, Mr Hoosein and others); we ATE at each others houses, played soccer and cricket together (many times in the street), and respected each others’ religion and food choices, whether veg or non-Veg. We all enjoyed the best movies at Alankar Cinema in the “good old days” as well as listening to Springbok Radio with favourites such as “Squad Cars” on Friday Night, Wednesday Nights was “10 O’ Clock Tales, and the “Avengers”, John Stead and Emma Peale, on Sunday Evenings.
We have built a wonderful and beautiful community in Laudium, Pretoria and greater South Africa. We have MUTUAL RESPECT for each other and we CARE for each other, whether in the Laudium Cancer Care or
Laudium Home for the Aged, where people of ALL Faiths are treated with LOVE and RESPECT and KINDNESS.
As an example, one of the readers (Gaby) posted a photo of Arabic writing on a Church wall – Church of St Thomas, the Apostle, (I have not seen the Arabic writing at the Seva Samaj, so I do not know if it is the same); but it is abundantly clear that: It is VERY CLEAR that whoever wrote that Arabic script is NOT a Muslim; a Muslim will NEVER Tarnish the Sacred Name of the Creator Supreme, Allah, Blessed be His Name, in the following way:
-the Arabic script is crude and terrible; even a child in kindergarten school can do a better job
-a Muslim will NEVER place the name of the Almighty in any other place of worship, EXCEPT a Masjid (or in the privacy of their own home)
Hence, it is abundantly clear, that this is a pathetic attempt by a non-Muslim to cause division and this is NOT a Laudium resident; we as Laudium residents, will NOT allow others to destroy our love for each other.
Remember: Britain DIVIDED India into 4 Weak Nations: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh (East Pakistan) and Kashmir; why? Because Britain was very SCARED that a UNITED Indian Sub-Continent, would be the most POWERFUL Nation in the world, among the Top 3; so they implemented their famous policy of “Divide and Rule.”
Hence, my SUGGESTION is for citizens of these lands, and their rulers, to promote UNITY, love and respect for each other, instead of hate. Then, the Indian Subcontinent can become the most powerful economic powerhouse in the world.
Finally, please remember that 90% of Indian and Pakistani foreign nationals are very good and respectful. We will not allow 10% to destroy our community. We have grown up with the spirit of Nelson Mandela: Freedom, Respect and Justice for all. If you are not South African, you will not understand this. The residents of Laudium are showing the REST of South Africa, how people with DIFFERENT Religions, Cultures, Races, Nationalities and Ideologies, can live TOGETHER with love and harmony. We have a fabulous and sterling DIVERSE community (Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Tamil, Buddhist etc) with outstanding business leaders, teachers, doctors, lawyers, architects, chefs and housewives. We have no problems (except for the criminals). South Africa is the BEST place in the whole world (except for corrupt politicians and criminals, tsotsis and chochees).
Remember, God Exists, whether you believe in Him or not. He Exists. He is Real. Everyone will stand in front of God on the Day of Judgement, including “anonymous” trouble makers. That is why the Day of Judgement is also called the Day of Shame and Humiliation.
Nkosi Sikileli Africa! God Bless Africa Nkosi Sikeleli Laudium: God Bless Laudium Lekker bly. Vasbyt, braai en biltong. With salaams and warmest regards from Dr Ahmed Adam.
Extract from the Laudium Sun:
Community stands united in condemning vandalism at Pretoria Hindu Seva Samaj (SPHSS)… This follows the discovery of Islamic scripture painted on the walls outside the auditorium of the SPHSS, this past Sunday. Last night (May 27) at least 54 local organisations across all religious faiths & cultures met with officials of the Samaj
headed by Sanjay Govind, to express their shock & disgust at the barbaric act… adding that they remain steadfast in maintaining the warm & united relationship the various religious faiths enjoy in the Laudium/ Erasmia area and surrounds.
Meanwhile the SPHSS conveyed best wishes to the Muslim Community, who celebrated Eid-ul Adha last Thursday.
For more on the vandalism read the May 28, 2026 edition of the Laudium Sun.
