Matriculants ready to Matriculate as final exams hit halfway mark

The Class of 2025 has now reached the halfway mark of their final exams, with the majority having begun on October 23, with English P3. Today (Friday, November 7), the Matriculants are writing Physics P1 and History P2. This year, there are a total of 766,000 candidates who have registered as full-time candidates, which is the highest number since the public examinations started in 1996. There are also 137,000 part-time candidates, bringing the total to 900,000 candidates who will sit for the 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) Matric exams. In addition, 17,427 students are registered to write the IEB Matric examinations, with 6174 registered SACASI students. The majority of local students will wrap up their exams on November 21, with Afrikaans FAL P2, although the exams will officially conclude on Thursday, November 27, with the CAT and IT practical rewrites. Marking is expected to commence on November 15 and conclude on December 18, with results expected to be released around mid-January.
