Synopsis:
Workaholic assassin Hutch Mansell takes his family on a much-needed vacation to the small tourist town of Plummerville. However, he soon finds himself in the crosshairs of a corrupt theme-park operator, a shady sheriff, and a bloodthirsty crime boss.
Sun Review:
Nobody 2 returns with more bruises, bullets and belly laughs and while it might not be the kind of sequel that demands a cinema trip, it’s still one heck of a ride. Think: chaotic vacation meets low-key John Wick, with Bob Odenkirk bringing all the dry charm and weary badass energy we’ve come to love. This time around, Hutch tries to take a break with his family… beach, burgers, the whole deal. But of course, trouble follows. The film wastes no time throwing him into another absurd mess, complete with shady locals, over-the-top villains and set pieces that are equal parts hilarious and brutal. The action is stylish and sharp, but what makes Nobody 2 really sing is its self-awareness. It knows it’s ridiculous and it leans into that hard. Odenkirk is fantastic, once again blending deadpan humour with sudden violence. The supporting cast, from the cartoonishly evil theme park mogul to the unhinged sheriff, clearly had fun and it shows. But while the film is a blast, it also feels… small. Not in a bad way, just more “popcorn on the couch” than “big-screen blockbuster.” You won’t regret watching it, but you might not rush out to the cinema for it either.
Sun Verdict:
Nobody 2 is loud, fun, and full of fight, the kind of movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously and lets you enjoy the chaos guilt free. It’s a stay-at-home gem with big punches, big laughs and one very tired dad who still knows how to break bones.
