“Bommie, known affectionately to so many as “Boma” or “Mamma,” passed away peacefully, surrounded by the family who meant the world to her. Bommie was a constant source of light and warmth. Her life was a journey shared between Pretoria and Lenasia, marked by an incredible work ethic and an entrepreneurial heart. She didn’t just seek out opportunities; she created them, always eager to share her knowledge and pull others up alongside her. Bommie’s home was her sanctuary and her gift to others. She took immense pride in creating a space that was as spotless as it was welcoming. To enter her home was to be embraced by her hospitable spirit; she had a rare, generous heart that ensured no one ever felt like a stranger in her presence. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love and resilience. Her memory will be cherished by her mother, her siblings and the generations she raised and adored: her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Until we meet again, Mamma. Rest peacefully in the Lord’s arms. “For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.” — Ecclesiastes 12:7.”

Akber Abdulla (Akber Ballister) of Erasmia.
Passed on: March 9, 2026.
“Today we remember and honour the life of our beloved father, Akber Abdulla, affectionately known to many as Akber Ballister. He was a man whose life was defined by dedication to his family. As a father to eight children, his love, guidance, and quiet strength shaped our lives in countless ways. While our hearts are heavy with his passing, we take comfort in knowing that we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return. We are especially mindful that he returned to his Creator during the blessed month of Ramadaan, a time of mercy and forgiveness. We pray that the Almighty accepts him with His infinite mercy, forgives any shortcomings, expands his grave with light and grants him the highest stages of Jannah. You will always be loved, remembered, and deeply missed. May Allah grant our family ease and reunite us with him in Jannah, Ameen. Please continue to remember him and all the
Marhoomeen in your duas, Jazakalla Khair. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who came to attend the janaaza and to those who have been a source of support, comfort, and strength to our family over the past few days. Your presence, prayers and kindness have meant more to us than words can express.”
