Venessa Roseline Makgate (64)

“It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Venessa Roseline Makgate, née Singh, who passed away on August 10, 2026, just seven days before her 65th birthday, following a prolonged period of illness.
Venessa was born on August 17, 1961 in Marabastad, Pretoria, to the late Geadeen “Georgie” Singh and Judith “Mokey” Singh. She was one of eight siblings and the firstborn of a set of twins. She shared a particularly close and cherished bond with her twin sister, Tessa Muller, and remained an integral part of the Singh family throughout her life.
In 1977, the family relocated to Laudium, Pretoria, where Venessa continued to grow and build lasting relationships and memories. On December 12, 1995, she married her beloved husband, the late Michael Makgate, and together they established their life in Mamelodi, Pretoria.
Venessa was known for her distinctive personality, generous spirit and caring nature. She had a genuine heart of gold and touched the lives of many through her warmth and kindness. She had a particular love for music and dancing, which reflected her vibrant personality and zest for life. Those who knew her will fondly remember her enjoyment of music, dancing and the simple pleasures of life.
Venessa’s legacy lives on through the love she shared with her family and the memories created over the years. She leaves behind her mother, Judith, her two daughters, Mereille Singh Nyang’ani and Michelle Gray, and six grandchildren.
Although her passing brings great sadness to those who loved her, her life will be remembered not by the circumstances of her passing, but by the relationships she formed, the love she gave and the memories she created.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that her earthly journey has come to an end and that she has found peace and freedom from pain and suffering.
