In this edition of ‘Sporting Stars of Tomorrow,’ we feature two young footballers who attend Jacaranda Primary School and play for Delfos FC, but beyond that, their inspirations and ambitions tell different stories. Shahid Abid plays at the right-wing and looks up to none other than Cristiano Ronaldo, while Thabang Setati is Delfos FC’s striker, who idolizes French superstar, Kylian Mbappe. Off the field, Shahid’s ambitions stretch beyond football. He hopes to one day become a successful engineer, saying that he wants to buy a mansion when he achieves success. Thabang’s future plans on the other hand, are firmly rooted in football. He hopes to become an excellent soccer player and also wants to give back and help the needy, through his success.
