This week, we profile two enthusiastic young footballers who are chasing big dreams, one dazzling save and one blistering goal at a time. Meet Osman Khan and Hammad Noor Mohammed, both students at Al Asr, but each carving their own path on the pitch. Osman, a calm and calculating goalkeeper from Bengal Street, plays for Aztec FC and looks up to young Spanish defender, Pau Cubarsi. While Liverpool FC is stitched into his heart, Osman is not focused on soccer only, he dreams of finishing his Hifz and building a mosque in Gaza. Then there’s Hammad from Himalaya Street, a speedy striker, lighting up matches for Al-Asr FC. His hero is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo and his favourite club, unsurprisingly, is Real Madrid. He is not only focused on becoming rich and successful but also hopes to be a good Muslim. He also wants to take his parents for Hajj, a goal that says a lot about his character. While their ambitions may look different on the surface, they’re united by something deeper… their commitment to their faith, their families, and the desire to make their parents proud.
