This week’s featured ‘Sporting Stars of tomorrow,’ Ayaaz Abdul Rahman and Shurahbeel Carrim attend CIS and share the same dream – to become pro soccer players – but are following different paths to get there. Ayaaz has the flair and pace of a right-midfielder, while Shurahbeel’s strength and stability hold him in good stead, as a defender… and when it comes to books they each enjoy different school subjects, PE and Maths respectively. Their soccer idols also reflect their contrasting styles, with Ayaaz looking up to French forward, Karim Benzema, also dreaming of playing for a Spanish club one day, while Shurahbeel admires Cristiano Ronaldo and is inspired by the tactical brilliance of Man City. Despite their differences, what unites the pair is their shared fervour for the beautiful game and a determination to succeed.
