Munsami (Lall-72) and Sarojini (Devi-66) Govender, of Mustard Street, Laudium, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past Sunday (Sept 20), marking a golden milestone filled with love, family and faith. Fifty years ago, the golden couple made a promise ‘to have and to hold, for better or worse, to love and to cherish’, with their family saying those were never just words, but that Munsami and Sarojini lived this. Their children, Seelan and Dimple (daughter in-law), Baba and Rabia (daughter-in law), Sivaram and Saloshni (daughter in-law), Thanusha and Peter (son-in law), Nirmala and Jameal (son-in-law) and Priya, joined in celebrating the couple’s journey and the legacy they have built. The golden couple is also blessed with 25 grandchildren.
The family paid this heartfelt tribute to the golden pair, “For 50 years, you have walked through life side by side, building not only a marriage, but a family, a home and a legacy that will continue for generations. We want to say thank you. Thank you for the childhood memories that have stayed with us, for picking us up from school in the Cressida, introducing us to different foods and experiences, taking us to the zoo, the dam and on our Durban trips together as a family. You taught us that no matter what life brings, we should always know where to turn. You showed us the importance of including Ammah in every aspect of our lives… in our happiness, our struggles, our decisions and our prayers. May Ammah continue to bless you both with many more years of good health, happiness and companionship. May you continue to walk through life side by side, and may we be blessed with many more years of making memories together.”
