Eid-ul-Fitr Blessings – Saturday (March 21)

Eid wishes… Jacaranda Primary School learners; Maliha Bagas (12 – Gr 6), Aamena Chhabu (13 – Gr 7), Ayesha Patel (12 – Gr 6) and Aliya Khan (11 – Gr 6) had this message for our readers: “May this blessed day bring peace, happiness and unity to your homes. Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating.”

As the blessed month of Ramadaan gently comes to an end today (Friday), Muslims in many parts of the world will celebrate one of the most cherished occasions on the Islamic calendar… Eid-ul-Fitr. In South Africa, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow (Saturday,
March 21), coinciding with Human Rights Day, this year. As we bid farewell to this sacred month, let us continue to uphold the invaluable lessons it has gifted us… patience, self discipline, generosity, compassion and empathy for the less fortunate. The spirit of Ramadaan, much like the essence of Human Rights Day, reminds us of the importance of dignity, equality and care for one another. The Laudium Sun joins the above pictured Jacaranda Primary School learners in extending warm wishes to our readers and indeed to Muslims everywhere, for a peaceful, safe and truly blessed Eid. May your homes be filled with happiness and may this auspicious day bring unity and abundant blessings. Let us also
keep in our prayers, our dear ones who are no longer with us and let us also remember those throughout the world, who are being oppressed, especially our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Eid Mubarak!
