Laudium cricketers participated in the inaugural 2026 Titans Cricket Franchise Daisy Cup, which started on April 12 and ran until May 24.
The tournament, played at different cricket ovals around Tshwane including Laudium, is a version of the DP Lions Jozi Cup and is organized during the Titans Cricket off season to assist players with game time and expose them to competitive cricket. It attracted clubs from as far as Mafikeng and Lichtenburg in the North West province.
Laudium players were selected into the Titans Invitational Teams which consisted of players
from the Titans Cricket hubs of Atteridgeville, Laudium, Mamelodi, Soshanguve, Hammanskraal and Eersterus in the u9, u11, u13 and u16 age categories.
In the u9 category Laudium was represented by Khovahiwa Hoshoko, Manan Patel, Fardeen Hafejee, Daniel Lamont, James Marshall and Travis Bester and were coached by Karabo Matlakala and Hudson Mongale.
In the u11 category, Jiyan Patel, Arush Patel, Azan Asim, Aarav Vasava and Atharva Latane represented Laudium, while Tshegofatso Mphaga and Ngwako Bopape, coached the side.
Khalalelo Hoshoko and Aarav Patel represented Laudium in the u13 category and were coached by Phetolo Makuwa and Martin Baloyi.
In the u16 category Lashiel Naidoo, Sahl Mahommed, Perseverence Mhlari, Zaid Patel represented Laudium and were coached by Pule Molapo and Eustice Mobie.
The MVP (Most valuable player) winners were; u9 – Daniel Lamont 2 MVPs for runs 17 (23) and Bowling 3/9(4.0) against Pitch Smashers Green, runs 17(18), Bowling 4/18(4.0) against Pitch Smashers Blue and took 9 wickets in total in the tournament.
Khovahiwa Hoshoko 1 MVP bowling 2/13(4.0) against Pitch Smashers Blue and took 11 wickets in total in the tournament. Fardeen Hafejee took 5 wickets in total in the tournament. U9 finished 3rd of 6 teams U11 Aarav Vasava 1 MVP bowling 4/10 against Sunrisers Yellow. U11 Team finished 6th of 8 teams.
U13 Aarav Patel 2 MVP bowling 3/5 against Three Towns Titans, bowling 3/5 against Lynwood White. Took 5 wickets in total in the tournament. U13 Team finished 6th of 10 teams. U16 team lost in the semifinals against Centurion Kavaliers and finished 3rd of 7 teams. All the players enjoyed the tournament as they traded their skills against some of the
best players and are looking forward to next year’s tournament. Some of the players also
caught the eyes of the scouts who were at the tournament. The players have also resumed
their pre-season training for the 2026/2027 school league and club cricket.
