Laudium Ijtima – 1-3 May 2026…

Residents in Laudium and surrounding areas are ready to welcome thousands of devotees from across the provinces and abroad as the annual Ijtima takes place, this time at the Laudium Sports Grounds from Friday (May 1) to Sunday (May 3). The highlight of the Ijtima will be the mass Jummah where around 15,000 people are expected to congregate. An official of the Ijtima told the Laudium Sun, “The Ijtima is a spiritually focused event aimed at encouraging reflection repentance and strengthening one’s connection with the Almighty. It brings together people from all walks of life in an environment of unity where social barriers are set aside and emphasis is placed on living a life of purpose and faith.”
*Residents are advised that several streets in and around Laudium will be affected with temporary closures and one way routes will be in place.

Why the Ijtima is a Reorientation of Your Life!
Laudium Ijtima 2026 | 1-3 May 2026 | Laudium Sports Stadiums

Laudium is once again hosting the Ijtima which rotates areas annually on a regional basis, mainly within the old Transvaal area.

The Ijtima in Laudium officially launches from Jumu’ah on Friday (May 1) and ends at Zohar on Sunday (May 3) at the Laudium Sports Stadium grounds.

The highlight of the Ijtima is the coming together of about 15,000 people, to attend the Friday prayer.

Mufti Abdul Khaliq Bhoola, on behalf of the Laudiun Ijtima Organising Committee, said, “The world is loud and full of distractions, but your heart needs silence, deep reflection and a constant pure environment of wisdom and guidance to realign it to our purpose in life. We can only attain proximity to Our Creator and Master, The Almighty, if we dedicate our lives to the fulfillment of our ordained divine purpose.

Today, we live in an era of “constant digital connection,” but this connection has disconnected us spiritually and directed our mindset in the opposite direction. We are busy, yet our souls feel idle.

It is meant to be an intervention in the middle of your mundane daily routine. It is a gathering that attracts thousands from all over our country and internationally, where the dust of the world is washed away by the tears of repentance, the awe inspiring lectures and the warmth of brotherhood. It is more than just a gathering, it is an event that leads to transformation!

The annual Ijtima is a unique system where:

  • Social Barriers Dissolve: The CEO sits shoulder-to-shoulder with the labourer. In the sight of The Almighrty, the only currency is Taqwa (To be aware and conscious of our Creator and Master whom we have to return to).
  • We are reminded of our divine purpose to not only worry about our bellies and desires, but to act as Ambassadors of Islam, showcasing its beauty.
  • It’s not only about listening to inspiring lectures and feeling the camaraderie, but a holistic system where one and all are urged to sacrifice some time from their worldly routine, and go out to better learn Islam, experience the sweetness of sacrifice, imbibe excellent character, and become punctual on one’s five daily Salaah and other religious duties.

We spend our lives building homes we will leave behind. Here, we spend a few days building the home we will inhabit forever in the Hereafter.

This isn’t just about learning the Deen; it’s about living it in its simplest, Sunnah (Prophetic) form.

Why You Can’t Afford to Miss It!
You might think, “I’m too busy,” or “I’ll go next time.” But time is a vanishing shadow. The Ijtima offers something the digital world cannot: Suhbah( Company inspiring). When you surround yourself with thousands of men crying out “Oh our Creator and Master” your own heart has no choice but to soften. You don’t just hear the message; you feel its vibration in the air.

The Ripple Effect:
From this city to the world
The Ijtima is the “power station.” You come to recharge, but you leave to illuminate.
From these few days, Jama’ats will form—men who will carry the light of
“Deen of Islam” to the darkest corners of our neighborhoods and beyond.
This is your invitation to:

  • Disconnect from the digital noise.
  • Reconnect with your Creator and Master.
  • Redirect your life’s ambition toward the eternal life of the Hereafter.

Finally…
Those who stay away see only the crowds and the tents. Those who enter find an arena of peace. Don’t let another year pass where you are a spectator of guidance. Become a participant in it. Pack your bedding, leave your worries behind, and walk toward your success. May the Almighty Creator accept every step taken toward this gathering, purify our intentions, and make this Ijtima a turning point for our city and all Humanity.
Ameen.”
