Local angler Uzair Abdulla of Raslouw Gardens was in disbelief when he reeled in a hige 11.5kg carp catch, at the Rieitvlei Dam, the previous Monday afternoon (Feb 9), using good old brown bread and a trusty mielie bomb. A delighted Uzair told the Laudium Sun, “When I saw the size of that carp, I couldn’t believe it was on my line. I was speechless, completely in shock. I never ever thought that I would get the opportunity to catch such a big fish. This is my personal best record and I feel overwhelmed. I don’t think I will get another opportunity to catch such a gigantic fish again in a long time.
