Now Kismet Pharmacy rider goes from pills to pain as thugs ride in Laudium

Despite seemingly ‘misleading’ posts by the Laudium CPF, that they are keeping the streets of Laudium safe through regular patrols, crime continues unabated.

The CPF is yet to give the community an explanation as to why crime still continues in the area and give a report as to why they have not succeeded in curbing the crime, instead of posting selfies of themselves at a crime or accident scene, or playing politics by verbally attacking certain private security patrollers, just for doing their job.

A Kismet Pharmacy delivery rider was attacked by armed thugs in front of this Himalaya Str, Laudium, home, despite the house being in a gated area.

In one of the latest incidents of crime, yet another pharmacy delivery motorcycle rider was attacked at gunpoint, while making a delivery in the security gated area of Himalaya Street. This follows the motorcycle rider of Ayoba Pharmacy being held at gunpoint and attacked last Tuesday, in the gated Taj Street area.

In this latest incident, three armed thugs robbed the Malawian rider of Kismet Pharmacy, last Friday afternoon. The robbery that took place in the gated street area resulted in the thieves stealing a Suzuki motorbike, a cell phone, a pay point machine and a parcel of medication that was supposed to be delivered to a house on Himalaya Street.

Fareed Aboo, the manager of Kismet Pharmacy, in Laudium, told the Laudium Sun, “It was a really bad day for us, when we heard that one of our delivery workers was robbed at gunpoint on Himalaya Street, while on his way to deliver medication to a customer. The incident happened at around 4:30pm on Friday afternoon. Three African males approached our rider before he could reach the customer, pointed a gun at him and stole the Suzuki bike he was riding, a cellphone, a pay point machine and a parcel of medication. It’s becoming extremely dangerous to operate a business in this area. We’ve heard of several similar incidents, where delivery motorbike riders were targeted. In fact, I read in the Laudium Sun last week of the robbery, where an Ayoba Pharmacy delivery rider was attacked and it seems that was almost identical to the attack on our rider. What happened to our rider is part of a very disturbing trend and it must stop. Crime in Laudium is getting worse by the day and it’s making life difficult for business owners like us. There need to be stricter laws and stronger enforcement to ensure that crimes like these do not keep happening. Fortunately, Kismet Pharmacy itself is secure. We have a full security system in place, so our customers can feel safe when visiting us. But overall, the rising crime rate in Laudium is deeply concerning.”

Manager of Kismet Pharmacy in Laudium,
Fareed Aboo, said what happened to their rider is very disturbing, but added that Kismet
Pharmacy itself has a full security system in place, so customers can feel safe.

Mohammed Arif, a resident of Himalaya Street, told the Laudium Sun, “I heard about the robbery of the motorbike delivery rider from Kismet Pharmacy and it’s truly terrible. These thugs are not only targeting delivery guys, but also customers. It’s really dangerous out here. Crime has reached an all-time high in Laudium and the area is no longer safe. Many people are moving out because of safety concerns and I’m also planning to leave this place. I just can’t live here anymore, with all the criminal activity going on. As for our local police, they don’t seem to exist in Laudium. They are doing nothing to prevent crime. It’s completely unsafe to live here now.”

Mohammed Arif of Himalaya Str said Laudium is no longer safe and he too is planning to leave the area.

Mona Ramjas, another resident of Himalaya Street, told the Laudium Sun, “The gating system on our street isn’t helping at all. Despite having a security gate and security guards stationed there, several robberies have happened right in front of our eyes. The security guards are not properly trained and they don’t even ask questions when people enter the area. It makes the whole system meaningless. Crime in our area is very bad. We need stronger police presence and proper leadership within our community to address these issues effectively.”

Mona Ramjas, also of Himalay Str, said the gating system in the area is not helping at all.

Attempts to get a comment from Khans Security, whose guards are stationed at the Himalaya Str gates, were unsuccessful.
