
Our very own Professor Farhanah Suleman has reached yet another milestone in her distinguished career, following her recent promotion to Associate Professor. Farhanah joined the University of Pretoria and Steve Biko Academic Hospital in 2009 as a specialist in Radiology and has since built an exceptional career marked by leadership and academic excellence. Farhanah, who confirmed to the Laudium Sun that she lived in Laudium for many years before moving to the adjacent Erasmia, was appointed Clinical Head of Unit in 2012 and promoted to Adjunct Professor in 2016. In 2019, she was appointed Head of Clinical Department at Kalafong Hospital. Her academic focus lies in musculoskeletal radiology, where she has contributed extensively through research and publications. With over 40 articles published in peer-reviewed journals, she has played a significant role in advancing knowledge within her field, while also serving as a research coordinator since 2011.A committed educator and mentor, she has supervised and co-supervised 22 master’s students to completion. Her contribution to academic publishing includes serving as Deputy Editor of the South African Journal of Radiology from 2013 to 2017. She has also remained actively involved with the College of Radiology, serving as a convenor, examiner, moderator, and council member, and contributing to the MMed protocol committee since 2020.
