The Shree Pretoria Hindu Seva Samaj hosted a vibrant and uplifting Women’s Day event on Sunday (August 9).
Over 200 ladies were in attendance for a day of empowerment, laughter, and togetherness.
The theme of the event was “The Modern-Day Devi — the Shakti of a Woman.” The focus was on celebrating the strength, resilience, and contributions of women in society. The atmosphere was euphoric, with music and meaningful conversations aimed at uplifting and inspiring women of all ages.
The event was graced by several prominent guests, including Dr. Nasiphi Moya, Executive Mayor of Tshwane. She addressed the ladies with a heartfelt message: “Many hats, one heart: the roles women wear.”
Other distinguished guests were Dr. Sona Soman, First Secretary at the High Commission of India, and Mrs. Arti Tewari, Consular Attaché at the High Commission of India.
In addition, three highly influential guest speakers were invited to share insights on divine feminine energy and how women in our community are progressing to pursue their dreams and lead more meaningful lives. The first speaker, Maya Makanjee, focused on Empowering Women.
The second speaker, Preeta Bhagatjee, spoke about Legal and Financial Considerations that women need to be more aware of and responsible for in their lives.
The third speaker addressed Ayurveda’s Fundamental Principles encompassing healthy living and nutrition.
The event culminated with a call for all women to remain driven and to let their voices be heard, in order to promote growth, education, and well-being. The SPHSS has committed to donating R10 001 towards a Women Empowerment Project. This initiative aims to help those women who are not as fortunate as we are today. The SPHSS extends sincere appreciation to all attendees for making the Women’s Day celebration a resounding
